Jane G. Mathews appointed to Planning & Zoning Commission

In late August, the Asheville City Council appointed Jane Mathews to fill one of three vacancies on the Planning & Zoning Commission. She served two terms on the Commission in the 1990s, serving as the Chair from 1997 to 1999. During her tenure she played a fundamental role in the writing of the Unified development Ordinance. She also spearheaded the community's first effort to consider developing a Small Area Plan for Charlotte Street.
