MATHEWS ARCHITECTURE is an Asheville-based, woman-owned architectural design firm, providing a complete range of quality architectural services. Jane Gianvito Mathews, AIA, the firm's Principal, has more than 20 years of experience practicing professionally in Kentucky and in North Carolina. She brings more than twenty years of architectural experience in Asheville and the surrounding counties where she has served as Project Architect, Designer and Manager on a broad range of public and private projects.

The design professionals at Mathews Architecture are deeply committed to providing clients with excellent designs and solutions that meet both their needs as well as their budgets. We encourage and can facilitate client participation in the design process.

Our broad experience includes commercial and civic design, schools, medical care facilities, governmental centers, public housing, art and community centers as well as recreational and park facilities. Our design services also include residential design for both renovation and new construction, full-service interior design, historic preservation design and planning, and code compliance review.

We are pledged to serving our community and the region, not only through our design work but also through our personal participation in civic affairs - by serving on the Asheville Planning & Zoning Commission, and the Asheville boards of the Preservation Society and the League of Women Voters. We have participated in Leadership Asheville and planning for Asheville's Riverfront, the Unified Development Ordinance and other innovative community efforts. We have also donated professional services to Habitat for Humanity, Hospitality House and WCQS-FM.

Having worked with AutoCAD for many years, our firm is fully equipped and experienced in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD). We also bring a working knowledge of the current local, state and federal codes as well as the accessibility provision of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
